Well, he was elected by the voters of Kircaldy and Cowdenbeath. In a parliamentary system, I suppose it’s always wrong to say that the prime minister was elected by anyone other than his own constituency, but the personalities of the parties’ leaders do seem to play more of a role than they did even 15 or 20 years ago.

Thank god one political voice is listening. we are calling for zero tolerance in our area where yobs are unpoliced after 2am. the town has numerous licenced premises. We are in a Conservative area where george Osborne has not even responded to us

Proportional Representation? It doesn’t work – just look at Italy for an example.

Besides which, with first past the post at least you know which politician you’re voting for – all the more relevant now that we know how corrupt and dishonest some politicians have been over their expenses.

Agreed, I can’t defend what many MP’s especially John Austin has done.

The sums of money involved are huge.

MPs’ expenses: John Austin makes £30,000 on flat – A Labour MP claimed more than £10,000 in expenses for the redecoration of his London flat, which was 11 miles from his main home, before selling it for a profit.

“………to behave in an unrighteousness way is something that is open to everyone”.

I seriously doubt that this kind of excessive expenses claim at the taxpayers expense is “open to everyone”!!!

We might not have the pink flamingos, the vast array of art-deco buildings and the Ferrari Testarossa, but Erith & Thamesmead does has mile after mile of shoreline.
